Accessibility Statement

1. Our commitment

StrategiHub is committed to making the School–Business Collaboration Platform accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, in accordance with the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882) and the Dutch Digital Accessibility Act (Wet Digitale Toegankelijkheid).

2. Measures taken

We have implemented the following accessibility measures:

  • Language attribute: The lang attribute is dynamically set based on the active language (Dutch or English), so screen readers use the correct pronunciation (WCAG 3.1.1).
  • Skip navigation: A “Skip to content” link appears when using the keyboard, allowing users to bypass navigation elements (WCAG 2.4.1).
  • Focus visibility: All interactive elements display a clear focus ring when selected via keyboard (WCAG 2.4.7).
  • Reduced motion: Animations are disabled when the user has set this preference in their operating system (WCAG 2.3.3).
  • Semantic HTML: The Platform uses semantic HTML5 elements (header, main, nav, footer) for assistive technology navigation.
  • Color contrast: Text and background colors meet a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text (WCAG 1.4.3).
  • Form labels: All form fields have associated labels or aria attributes.
  • Responsive design: The Platform is usable on screen widths from 320px to desktop screens.
  • Screen reader text: Buttons without visible labels (such as menu buttons) include aria-label or screen reader text.
3. Known limitations

Despite our efforts, some areas may have limitations:

  • PDF reports: Generated PDF files may not be fully accessible to screen readers. The information is also available in the online view.
  • Third-party components: Some authentication components (Clerk) are provided by an external party and fall outside our direct control.
  • Complex tables: Some data tables with sorting and filtering may be more difficult to navigate using keyboard only.

We are actively working to improve these areas.

4. Compatibility

The Platform has been tested with and supports:

  • Browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge (last 2 versions).
  • Screen readers: VoiceOver (macOS/iOS), NVDA (Windows).
  • Devices: Desktop, tablet, and mobile (320px+).

6. Legal framework

This accessibility statement has been prepared in accordance with:

  • European Accessibility Act: Directive (EU) 2019/882, applicable to digital products and services from June 28, 2025.
  • EN 301 549: European standard for digital accessibility requirements, based on WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
  • Dutch Digital Accessibility Act: The Dutch implementation of the European directive for government and education-related digital services.
  • WCAG 2.1 Level AA: Internationally accepted web accessibility guidelines, published by the W3C.
